Nina was a caring woman who loved everyone and was loved by many. After retiring from the Nueces News Agency, she opened her own bar, The Midway Club. Family was her top priority. She was the person who made sure you were well cared for and always wanted you to know she was there for you. She was always ready to attend family gatherings, BBQs, and play Bingo with her daughter. She also enjoyed spending time with her two companions, Tiny and Coco. She was always eager to dance and enjoy live music at the bar with her extended family, who called her “mom.” She will always be remembered for her generosity, her willingness to care for others, and her devotion to her children, siblings, parents, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Although she is gone, she will always be with us through our treasured memories together.
Nina is survived by her children: Hector S. Garcia and Thelma G. Sandoval (Felipe Sandoval). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Brianna E. Sandoval (Henry J. Gozum) and Juan Angel Sandoval; and siblings Jose Lopez, Diana S. Perez (George Perez), David Soto (Jovita Hernandez), and Linda Soto-Reyes (Angel Reyes); and numerous nieces and nephews whom she so loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Encarnacion A. Soto Sr. & Catalina G. Soto; brother Eduardo Soto, and Encarnacion Soto Jr.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 25, at Funeraria del Angel Corpus Christi. The public viewing will be from 3-7 p.m., with time to share remarks at 5 p.m. No graveyard services at this time.
If you have photos to share, please send them to my daughter, Brianna Sandoval, at [email protected] or through messenger on Facebook so we can include them in a video tribute.
