

Ethelyen Wanda Bergeron, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Corpus Christi, TX on Friday, July 11, 2025 after a long illness that she battled until the very end. Wanda was born in Houston, TX on February 10, 1957 to Peggy Yvonne Cunard and Louis Joseph Bergeron Jr. Her father preceded her in death.
Wanda had a love for learning. As an adult, she went back to school to focus on her education, earning a Master’s Degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Wanda was an avid reader and a published author and a poet. She was a member of the Church of Reconciliation in Corpus Christi, TX. Wanda will be remembered for her ability to embrace the differences in people and cultures and being a person who always made others feel welcomed and valued.
A true spirit of the outdoors, Wanda found solace and joy in the natural world. Whether planting and nurturing vines, collecting stones or sitting at the waters edge with a fishing pole, she adored her times spent with Mother Nature.
Wanda is survived by her children, Martin (Lisa) Gibson and Michael Rasmussen; Grandchildren Lyric, Jesse and Michael Gibson; her mother, Peggy Bergeron; Brothers Henry (Jackie) Bergeron and Louis J Bergeron III (Laura); Sister April Bergeron Hall and several nieces and nephews. Also survived were two of her most cherished friends; Apache Molina and Father Bruce Wilson.
A Celebration of Wanda’s life will be led by Father Bruce at 9:00am on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Medicine Circle at the Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge (South Entrance), 6001 Ennis Joslin Rd in Corpus Christi, TX.
