She was 96 Years old and a resident of Corpus Christi most of her life. She was ready to meet the Lord when she was called.
She passed away peacefully at home with all her sons, daughters, and grandkids.
She was born on October 13, 1923, in Huetamo, Michoacan Mexico and at a young age immigrated to the United States with her husband to work and grow her family.
She was preceded in death by an infant Son, Jose Luis; Daughter, Gloria Gomez; and her husband Salvador Gomez, several brothers and sisters.
Fausta is survived by her daughters ; Maria del Toro ; Rosie Garcia (Freddie); Estela Gomez; Margaret Martinez; Liz Vega (Boni) ; and by her sons Rafael(Margarita); Joe Gomez; Tony Gomez (Cristina), Salvador Gomez Jr; Carlos Gomez; 22 Grandchildren, ,30 Great -Grandchildren, 4 Great-great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews
Fausta was a woman of Faith and prayer, who taught her children good Christian values. The power of prayer was something she strongly believed in and practiced it with her family all the time. The grandkids love it and they remember it all the time. She has passed these religious values through generations.
She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was very faithful to the Schoenstatt Movement, attending every 18th of the month traveling to the Chapel at Lamar near Rockport. She also worked for many years with the Old and Retired Nuns of Incarnate World.
She dedicated her life to her Children and was a great Grandma. She was a great “Mom” and Mother –in-law.
She was at peace in her heart all the time, the kind of peace the only comes from God. She had a strong faith, not just in words, but by actions and deeds .
She will be missed very much after all these years of being the guiding light for us.
Private Visitations will be this Tuesday August 25 1:00-1:30 pm at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly 3442 Holy Rd. (between Carroll Ln and Kostoryz).
After visitation, rosary and mass will be held at Holy Family Church at 1:30 p.m. 2509 Nogales St.
Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery 8200 Old Brownsville Road.
