Flora Martinez

God called his daughter, Flora Martinez, 51, home on a beautiful spring morning, Sunday, March 22, 2015. She was born June 2, 1963 and was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas where she graduated from Roy Miller H.S. in 1982.

Flora attended an adult day care and loved to play Bingo, enjoyed listening to oldies and country western songs and doing zumba. She was an avid Houston Astros fan; but, she loved the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed being both commentator and cheerleader. She loved family dinners and visits from friends and relatives. Wherever Flora went she made friends easily and left quite an impression. She had a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile along with a gentle, loving heart; and this was God’s way of keeping Flora special to all who knew her.

Flora is preceded in death by her parents, Arturo G. and Beatrice G. Martinez.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, 3 sisters: Gloria Anita (Leo) Delatorre, from Houston, Texas, Rosa Linda Ford, Mary Beatrice (Albert) Diaz and 2 brothers: Arturo David (Emma) Martinez and Danny (Veronica) Martinez.

Flora was the youngest of the six siblings and though she never married, she had numerous children who she loved dearly. Her 18 nieces and nephews and their children were a joyous blessing to their special “Aunt Flo”. Flora had lots of love for Tio Lorenzo and Tia Cheva Garcia and we appreciate all their care and support.

Service arrangements are as follows: A visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2015 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening at Funeraria del Angel-549 Cheyenne.

A visitation will continue from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Funeraria del Angel with a Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with a Graveside service to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
