

Frank was 17 years old when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and became a Sergeant while proudly serving in World War II from 1943-1945. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a longshore man for 29 years and was a member of the International Longshoreman’s Association (I.L.A.) and a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church for 51 years.
Frank was very family oriented who loved his family deeply. His family will always cherish wonderful memories and carry his love in their hearts for eternity.
Mr. Garza is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dora A. Garza; children, Cynthia Gonzalez (Robert), Yolanda G. Holguin, Au.D., Frank Garza III (Cindy), Velma Denton (Tom), Michael Ray Garza (Monica); sisters, Audelia Longoria, Christina Pavesi (Phillip), Becky Beltran, Esperanza Fernandez (Sam), Linda Longoria (Frank); twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Garza’s family would like to thank Mrs. Maria Garcia, CEO of Nurses On Wheels and staff for their excellent care and compassion throughout Mr. Garza’s illness. Special thanks to Gabriel Bernal, Analisa Morin, Ester Caravajal, Norma Martinez, and Anita Garza.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
