Genoveva V. Martinez, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2011. She was born on August 17, 1928 in Edna, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother whom will be dearly missed.
Genoveva is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Vicenta Vargas and two brothers, Gene and Sandy Vargas.
She leaves behind her family to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Eulalio Martinez, her children, Jim (Yvonne) Martinez, Edward (Sandra) Martinez and Bessie (Joel) Alaniz; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Lily Martinez (Nick) and Irma Garcia and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Templo Sinai Asambleas de Dios, 3512 S. Staples with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
