

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guadalupe "Lupe" Rodriguez Casarez, who peacefully left us on April 26, 2025, at the age of 92. Lupe was born on September 16, 1932, in Uvalde, Texas, to her beloved parents, Gonzales Rodriguez and Soledad Herrera Rodriguez.
Lupe lived a life full of warmth, joy, and cherished memories. She will always be remembered for her adventurous spirit and deep love for family. Throughout her life, Lupe had an unyielding passion for travel, constantly seeking new places, new faces, and new experiences. She was a woman who believed that every journey, whether near or far, was an opportunity to learn, grow, and embrace the world with an open heart.
Her love for life extended to her fondness for playing cards. Whether gathering with family and friends or sharing stories over a friendly game, Lupe's laughter and infectious smile brightened any room. Her light-hearted spirit and playful nature were contagious, leaving a lasting impact on those lucky enough to know her.
Lupe's legacy lives on through the countless memories she created with her family and friends. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who gave selflessly, loved deeply, and always made others feel welcomed and valued. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of kindness, joy, and resilience, and her memory will be carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur A. Casarez; daughter, Susana (Susie) Ford.
She is survived by her beloved family, including her children, Edward (Evangelina) Casarez, Criselda (Robert) Randel and Patricia (Jeff) Glenn; six grandchildren, brother, Armando Rodriguez and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Services will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the visitation on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 9:00AM to 9:30AM, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 9:30AM. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00AM and the inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
