

Guile was born to Guilebaldo Gonzalez, Sr. and Matilde Garcia Gonzalez on July 31, 1948, in Falfurrias, Texas. He graduated from Falfurrias High School in 1966 then continued his education by graduating from Texas A&I University-Kingsville in 1970 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. Guile married Carla Rodriguez on October 9, 1993, and they resided in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Guile is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carla Rodriguez Gonzalez, his beautiful children: Lisa Monica Gonzalez (Tommey) Lyons, Jessica Lorraine Gonzalez (Garry Winterroth), and Guilebaldo “Guilo” Gonzalez III, his beloved grandchildren: Brianna Alicia White, Isabella Victoria Zu-Bolton, Rakelle Aminta Diaz, Luis “LJ” Diaz, Stormie Rose Gonzalez. His nieces Jessica R. Garza, Angela E. Garza, Monica C. Martinez (John Paul), Larissa M. Savana (Michael). His great nephews & nieces: Robert “Trey” Garcia (Iliana), Olivya Anise Garcia (Jeremiah), John Josiah Martinez, Kane Garcia, Myracle Garza, Rogelio Rolando III, Antonio Garza, great-great nephews & nieces: Nehemiah Moses Garcia, Nazariah Kendra Mae Garcia, Aniyah Rose San Miguel, Aziah Noel San Miguel. He also leaves to cherish his memory his MIL Lydia Laureles, BIL Herb Rodriguez (Danielle), SIL Cindy Garza, BIL Raul Rodriguez (Clara), SIL Tonia Placeres (Leo), SIL Nae Laureles (John) and many more family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guilebaldo Gonzales Sr. and Matilde Gonzalez, SIL Maria Del Carmen Cantu, BIL Roger Garza and nephew Rogelio Rolando Garza Jr.
Guile worked for Corpus Christi Caller Times as a journalist and KRIS-TV as a field reporter, He became a State Licensed Private Investigator and worked for Robert Patterson Atty, PC, Banda’s Law Firm, and Wyatt Law Firm among others. During his retirement, Gil enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his fur babies Maxim, Daisy & Elliott. He also became a skilled wood smith with the mentoring of his BIL Herb and made many intricate items. He and his beloved wife Carla loved music, dancing, arts & crafts, traveling and they had a fun rivalry between their favorite baseball teams. Guile loved the New York Yankees and Carla loved the Boston Red Sox. Guile was known for his unique and distinctive voice, infectious smile and hearty laugh. Everyone that had the privilege to know Guile were better people because of it.
Guile had strong opinions and specific wishes for his funeral services and burial. His wishes will be honored per his last request and are as follows: There will be no church services, clergyman, rosary recited, speeches made or a gathering after burial. Guile wanted anyone who would like to visit to please come to the viewing, have their private moments with him and say goodbyes. There will be a continuous photo slide show with music and Guile’s family will be present throughout. The Gonzalez family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the EMT techs, doctors, nurses and staff at Christus Spohn Saratoga for their high level of care and compassion they gave to Guile in his hours of need.
