

Born on June 23, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Henry embarked on a remarkable journey when he enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. His distinguished military career spanned 22 years, during which he and his family traveled extensively, experiencing diverse cultures and forming lifelong friendships around the world. Upon retiring from the Army, Henry returned to his hometown, where he devoted himself to his family, the cornerstone of his life.
Henry is survived by his devoted wife, Lodie Arredondo (née Liese); their children, Monica Arredondo, Henry Arredondo Jr. and his wife Marcey, Anthony Arredondo and his wife Sylvia, and Christina Gonzalez and her husband Jeremy; siblings, Hector Arredondo, Arnold Arredondo, and Linda Rodriguez. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, loving every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Jose (Joe) and Ruby Arredondo; sister, Melody Morris; brother, Jose (Joey) Arredondo; and grandson, Marcus Henry Rivera. Henry leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication.
In his leisure time, Henry found solace in the great outdoors, enjoying hunting on the family ranch in Benavides, Texas, and fishing in the Gulf. These pursuits reflected his deep appreciation for nature and his adventurous spirit.
Henry J. Arredondo Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his honorable service to his country, and his zest for life. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, where a Holy Rosary will follow that same morning at 9:30 AM. A Funeral Service will begin at 10 AM, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Rite of Committal and Entombment with Final Military Honors will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
