Jack, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was born on May 6, 1946 in Delhi, Louisiana to William and Virginia Martin. At the age of three, Jack’s parents moved their family to Corpus Christi, Texas in search of construction work. Jack chose to remain in Corpus Christi where he went on to meet his wife, Janice, raise their two daughters, and have a successful career as a hydraulic crane operator at Berry/Bay Contracting for over 30 years. Jack and Janice would have been married 55 years this December, an accomplishment many admire. Jack was a persevering, hard-working man who sought
to provide for his family, delighted in spending time with his children and grandchildren, and found immense pleasure in conversing with and lecturing any individual willing to listen. Most would say he was truly one-of-a-kind. He will be remembered first and foremost for his loving dedication to his children and grandchildren, but also for his honesty, witty humor, and integrity.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Virginia Martin; as well as his brothers, Billy W. Martin and Tommy E. Martin.
Jack is survived by his wife, Janice Martin and his daughters, Shelly (Greg) Webb and Shannon (David) Getzelman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Britanie (Terry) Pavlicek, Hannah (Philip) Comiskey, and Jacob Getzelman and his great-grandchildren Caleb Pavlicek, Chase Pavlicek, MaKayla Pavlicek, Parker Pavlicek, and Lillie Jane Comiskey. Papa, you will forever reside in our hearts. We love you.
