Joe Zacarias Gonzalez III

Jose Z. Gonzalez III, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on December 2, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved with all his heart. He was born on August 3, 1960, to Hilda Gonzalez and the late Jose Z. Gonzalez II.

Joe was the devoted husband of Angela Gonzalez, with whom he shared a lifelong bond together for 48 years and married for 43. Their bond endured through every season of life steadfast, loyal, and filled with a love that only strengthens over decades. Their marriage was a true testament to commitment, companionship, and the power of growing up and growing old together. Their love stood as a powerful example of true companionship and dedication.

A cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, Joe lived a life defined by service, generosity, and integrity. He proudly devoted 35 years of dedicated service to the City of Corpus Christi, earning the admiration and respect of colleagues.

Joe was also known for his tremendous sense of humor. Often called “El Joker,” to most, but grandpa joker to his beloved grandchildren. He had an unmatched ability to make others laugh. His jokes, stories, and natural comedic spirit brought light into every room he entered. Making people smile was one of his greatest joys, and his laughter will forever echo in the memories of those who loved him.

He was the beloved father of Crystal, Jacob, and Katie, and the proud grandfather of Derek, Ava, Charlee, Easton, and Mila all of whom brought immeasurable joy and pride to his life.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Angela, his children, grandchildren, his mother Hilda Gonzalez, and his siblings Chris, Omar, and Jerry. He is preceded in death by his father Jose Z. Gonzalez II, and his siblings Gabriel and Betty.

Joe’s presence filled every room with laughter, comfort, and warmth. His absence leaves a deep void, but his legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created. Joe lived a life of meaning, laughter, and devotion.

His memory will forever be a blessing.
