Joe Henry Pereida

Joe Henry Pereida, age 69, currently living in Robstown, Texas, passed away on August 9, 2024, surrounded by his wife, children, and family. He was born February 2, 1955, to Ramon Pereida and Olivia Sanchez and was raised in Sinton, Texas, by his mother and step-father.

Joe graduated from Sinton High School in 1973. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served honorably from 1973 to 1977. Joe graduated from Southwest Texas State University (Texas State University) with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Joe worked as a public servant with several local and state agencies including Child Protective Services in Brazoria County, Texas Department of Criminal Justice- Parole Division, Nueces County Community Supervision & Corrections Department, and the 36th Judicial District Juvenile Probation Department.

Joe is preceded in death by his grandson, Nathaniel Jose Pereida; mother, Olivia Sanchez and stepfather, Armando Sanchez; father, Ramon Pereida; brother, Armando Sanchez; and grandparents, Jacinto & Serapia Gutierrez.

Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elva Segovia Pereida; daughter, Stefanie Lockhart (Michael); son, Jose Pereida (Vicky); and his beloved grandsons, Ayden Michael Lockhart and Conner Joe Lockhart. Joe is also survived by Nicholas Martinez, who called Joe his step-grandpa; his half-brothers and half-sisters; several nieces, nephews, and many other loved ones.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 9 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Father Pete Elizardo, Jr. officiating. Rite of Committal and Interment with Final Military Honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, Texas.
