Joe was preceded in death by both parents and brother, Robert Platz, Sr.
Joe Graduated WB Ray High School and had multiple Associate Degrees from Del Mar College. He worked in machine operations for Corn Products Company and Christus Spohn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Aurora Platz, who he married in February 22, 1969 and would have celebrated their 53rd year of marriage in February 2022. He is also survived by his children, Lupita Munguia (Rocky), Joe Platz III (Michelle), Priscilla Medina (Toby); 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brother, John Platz; and sister, Rosalie Quezada.
A visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A vigil service and rosary will occur Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, January 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Ss Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 3210 S Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. An interment will occur Friday, January 21, 2022 at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408.
