

A man with strong faith of eternal life in heaven left this earth to live in his God’s Kingdom. After 67 years of trials on earth the soul of John Richard Rios left his body this December 22, 2012 to be greeted by his parents in our Heaven above.
John is survived by his wife, Sylvia Rios and three children: Michelle (Chris), Anton (Shannon) and Janna; His sisters, Lydia De La Garza and Lisa (Rudy) Martinez; three grandchildren, Arianna, Lilly, Ian and numerous nieces and nephews.
John graduated from Roy Miller High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Corpus Christi State University. He honorably retired after 32 years as a Senior Master Sergeant from the Air Force, followed by his retirement from the Corpus Christi Army Depot after 47 years.
John had a passion for flying and was once a member of the Naval Flight Club and served as a Commander in the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing along with his karaoke setup. John also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors on January 2nd at 7:00 p.m. with a viewing starting at 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be conducted at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on January 3rd at 10:00 a.m., to be followed by the burial, with full Military honors at the Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
