

He served thirty years in the Navy on land and sea until he retired in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was married for 53 years to his loving wife, Marina Liad Alonso and with her raised three children: Trig, Jerome, and Mary "Marjorie.”
He is also survived by two older children, Mary Joy Pigao and Kenneth Alonso, who were raised in the Philippines.
He passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A visitation for Johnny will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A holy rosary will occur Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 7:00 PM, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery. A funeral mass will occur Monday, July 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, 2233 Waldron Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas. A burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, Texas.
