Jose Gilberto Perea Sr.

He married the love of his life, Pauline Gonzales, on January 28, 1962, who survives him. They spent the next 57 years together. They were blessed with two sons, Jose G. Perea Jr. (Belinda) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Paul Perea (Veronica) of San Antonio, Texas. Gilbert spent 30 years as a master mechanic at Shaffer’s Muffler Shop. His passion was working on all types of vehicles.

Gilbert is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Brianna Davis (Derrick), Jose G. Perea III (Amber), Belissa Perea (Pedro Garza) all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Andrea Barrera of Pearland, Texas. Also, his great-grandchildren, Noah and Mia Perea of Corpus Christi, Texas and Derrick Davis Jr. of Dallas, Texas. Gilbert is also survived by several siblings, David Perea of California, Reynaldo Perea (Gloria) of San Antonio, Texas, Aurora De Leon of Robstown, Texas, Richard Casares (Gracie) of Corpus Christi, Texas. Also surviving him are his in-laws, Dora Lopez (Joe), Frank Gonzales (Estela), Sandra Yanez (Veronica), and Yolanda Gonzales (widow of Johnny Gonzales). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and several close friends. Gilbert never knew a stranger.
