Jose Luis Villareal, 54, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2026. He was born on April 23, 1971, in Corpus Christi, where he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the community he loved.
Joe will be remembered for his vibrant personality and his ability to bring joy to any room. Known as the life of the party, he loved making people laugh, dancing, and playfully teasing those closest to him. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, including barbecuing, riding motorcycles, fishing, listening to music, and spending time socializing with family and friends.
He took pride in everything he did and often shared his straightforward advice: if you’re going to do something, do it right the first time. That mindset reflected his character—strong, genuine, and full of heart.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Jesse V. Villareal; his grandmother, Adelaida Castillo; his best friend, Mike Avalos; and his daughter, Jatherine L. Villareal.
He is survived by his loving mother, Josephine C. Villareal; wife of nearly 20 years, Perla De Los Reyes; his children, Jocelin L. Villareal, Jesse Hernandez, Yesenia Segovia, and Ivana Segovia; his siblings, Veronica Cisneros, Jesus Lino Villareal, and Jesse Ruiz; and his cherished grandchildren, Zoey Ella Garcia, Evan Jose Garcia, Ozzy Garcia, and Saylor James Hernandez, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe's family will always remember his laughter, his strength, and the love he shared so freely. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.
The family extends special thanks Sandra Calvo (sister-in-law) for always watching out for him, Jesse Ruiz for being there during the toughest moments, and Eric Molano for his constant support and spiritual guidance.
