Joseph Cloyd Hammitt, Jr., 57, passed away on July 10, 2012. He was born on September 13, 1954 in Houston, Texas to Joseph Cloyd Hammitt, Sr. and Jessie Lee (Arnold) Hammitt. He was a mechanical engineer by profession. Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Donna Hammitt of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughter, 10 years old, Allison Hammitt of Corpus Christi; brother, Robert Hammitt of Corpus Christi; three cousins, Lynette Hammitt of Dallas, Texas, Howard Stiles and Shirley Stiles of Georgia; mother-in-law, Marie Fawbush of Watseka, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Luann Howard, Rose Kaufman, Brenda Fawbush; brother-in-law, James Fawbush along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road.
