Joseph Riley Simpson

Joseph served in the United States Navy. He retired for Corpus Christi Army Depot civil service. He went on to work in the Public Sector as a computer operator. Joseph will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing, and reading books. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bufford Addington; sisters, Edith Stevenson, Jeralene Addington, Ola Addington and Ruby Addington; grand-daughters, Heather Marie Herrada and her twin sister; and grandson, baby boy Simpson; great-grandchildren, Ellouise Odetta Wendt and Ethan Duane Wendt.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jessie Mae Simpson; children, William Walter Simpson (Veta) of Newton, Kansas, Joseph Carroll Simpson (Aldea) of Corpus Christi, Texas; James Riley Simpson (Patti) of Rockport, Texas; Victoria Jane Herrada (Herman “Frank”) of Swinney Switch, Texas, Jack Kevin Simpson (Jera) of Houston, Texas; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and his brother, Sam Walter Simpson (Audrey Nell) of Cuero, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Sam Simpson, James Simpson Jr., Jerid Simpson, Chad Herrada, Colt Herrada and great-grandson, Tristen Osborn.
