Juan Manuel Gutierrez

Juan Manuel Gutierrez, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He was born on September 21, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jesus Gutierrez and Domitila Gutierrez. Juan was a graduate of Roy Miller High School. Following graduation, he entered in the US Army honorably serving 2 years in the Vietnam War. He retired as a truck driver from Carr’s Delivery Service after 20 years. Juan attended Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and also enjoyed watching wrestling and basketball. He most especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Velma G. Gutierrez; daughters, Vanessa Atteberry (Aubrey) and Jennifer Gutierrez; sons, Michael Gutierrez, Juan M. Gutierrez Jr. and Matthew Gutierrez; grandchildren, Angelina Marie Steinocher, Bryana Alise Rosales, Jayden Ryan Gutierrez and Aubrey Jaxon Atteberry; brothers, Tomas Gutierrez (Victoria), Raul Gutierrez, Jose Luis Gutierrez (Irma), Pedro Gutierrez, Oscar Gutierrez (Esther); sisters, Jesusa Vargas and Josefina Flores (Emilio); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
