He was born on February 1, 1940, in La Venadera, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Juan and Cira Martinez. His life was characterized by hard work, faith, and a profound devotion to his family, setting an example for all who knew him.
Juan Manuel worked in agriculture in Othello, Washington and in California for many years before moving to Corpus Christi, TX in 1980. In his later years, he worked for Gulf Marine Fabricators in Aransas Pass, Texas, where he retired in 2010. He instilled in his children and grandchildren the importance of a strong work ethic and perseverance.
Juan Manuel is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Cira Martinez and his beloved wife, Enriqueta (Montemayor) Martinez. He is also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He is survived by his three siblings: Javier (Irma) Martinez, Soccoro (Augustine) Villarreal, Nora (Juan) Canchola.
He was a proud father to his four loving children: Juan Fernando (Hilda) Martinez, Sergio (Becky) Martinez, Blanca Idalia (Michael) Del Bosque, Rigoberto (Jennifer) Martinez.
He was a devoted grandfather to his 21 grandchildren: Amanda, John David, Natalie, Andrea, Bridget, Kimberly, Heather, Candace, Sergio, Jr., Robert, Danny, Sierra, Gracie, Jaime, Christian, Jon, Joshua, Alyssa, Kennedi, Imogen, and Rigoberto Jr. He also had 59 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy with love.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel from 3pm until 10:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Mexico, followed by the Rite of Christian Burial.
