Once in a lifetime we have the opportunity to meet the Love of our life. I was blessed when I met my Hon in the summer of 1964. Kenneth W. Wilkinson, a handsome, strong, loving young man. I knew that we would be forever together. I went to Texas Women's University in Denton and Ken to North Tx. University. By 1966 we married in Ft. Worth and in 1968 our 1st born, Deidra, then in 1973 Ken K our 2nd child was born. We were blessed with happiness. I believed no one experienced the love we shared. He treated me like a queen and I treated him like my king.
We moved to S. Texas to be close to my parents. Ken held 4 jobs while I taught at CCISD. He continued his education and graduated from Texas A&I University in Kingsville with a degree B.S. in Elementary Education. He taught at Woodlawn, Wilson elem. schools while working on his Master's degree. In 1978 he received his Master of Science from CC State University. He worked for Frito Lay, Padre Island Golf Course to get his quarters in for Social Security.
Ken was an ambitious, quiet man who go things done.
Before College, he worked at a Brick Co. in Dallas, TX. He worked at Jackson Concrete Co. in Denton, Tx. never complaining, always doing his work. I remember he used to go inside the concrete tanks with a drill to clean out the concrete that was stuck to the inside of the tank. I waited outside and every 30 mins he would peek his head out of a hole and say "I'm ok." He got blood poisoning from concrete that got on his arm. The hospital doctors saved his life.
While Deidra and Ken K. were young, we traveled to Las Vegas and there D and K.K enjoyed the games at Circus Circus Hotel. But before we got to Vegas, all we could hear was "are we almost there"? from our 2 lovely children.Ken W was so patient, he'd reply, "Yes and we are going to have fun". OUr children saw the Crater in Arizona and visited the museum.
In Albequerque, New Mexico Deidra and Ken K with us, visited caves of the Navajo. It was amazing. But my Hon delivered. We had fun. Later we saw a Chevy Chase movie that reminded us of our family. 
We aged, as everyone will. The children moved out, married and blessed us with 3 grandchildren. Sienna, Gavin Wayne and Bella. 
Then there were 3....Blondie our cat, Ken and me. Never a dull moment. I miss Ken's 4 kisses in the morning, 4 in the evening and his "Goodnight Sweetheart".
Beside bringing us joy to the family, Ken accomplished a lot in Education. He was a Principal at Perez Elem. in Kingsville, and a Principal at Magee Elem in Calallen.
Ken served our country in the Navy and had stories to tell about the huge USS Bausell DD 845 ship. He participated int he nuclear tests in the South Pacific. Kenneth was honored for passing a Navy wide competitive examination after meeting professional and military requirements.
He enjoyed watching the Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and all other teams. He loved his football on Sunday.
Kenneth Wayne Wilkinson was a gift to us and friends. We will always have him in our hearts and minds.
