Librada "Lily" DeLeon

Librada “Lily” DeLeon, 82, passed away on July 4, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on August 17, 1931 in Donna, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to travel and participated in many activities with family and friends. She enjoyed music, dancing and laughing with others. She will be truly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo Enriquez and Cruz Sanchez Layton; stepfather, Francisco Layton; great-grandfather, Rito Rodriguez; and husband, Hector DeLeon of 38 years; brothers, Benardino “Nino” Enriquez and Thomas Layton.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, a sister, Delia Layton of California; brothers, Fransico Layton, Jr. of Houston, Texas and Danny (Shirley) Layton of McAllen, Texas; her children, Inelda (John) Hernandez, Norma Rodriguez, Hector DeLeon, Jr., Melba (Gary) Thompson, and Ronald (Amanda) DeLeon; grandchildren, Alex (Cathy) Rodriguez, John Edward (Christina) Hernandez, Jeannie (Joe) Rodriguez-Irwin, Anthony (Angie) Rodriguez, Roxanne and Aaron Hernandez, Malory (Jason) Rodriguez; Maranda, Ronald Derek, and Madeline DeLeon, Hector Joel DeLeon; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and also numberous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Memory Gardens from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Rodriguez, John Edward Hernandez, Anthony Rodriguez, Aaron Hernandez, Hector DeLeon, Ronald Derek DeLeon, Andrew Rodriguez, Miquelio Flores, Adrian Rodriguez, and Sergio Gomez.
