Lillie J. Hayek

Lillie Jurica Hayek died September 2, 2016 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 102 and just short of 103 by 3 months. She was born November 15, 1913 in Kokernot, TX in Gonzales County. Her family moved to Three Rivers and then to Nueces County in 1930. She met her future husband, Joe, in Three Rivers and when her family moved to Nueces County, Joe and his family also moved to Nueces County. Lillie and Joe Hayek were married in October 1932. They farmed in the West Oso community for over 70 years.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Agnes Lesak Jurica; husband, Joe; sons, Robert and Edward; grandson, Mark Hayek; and her five siblings and their spouses, Edwin (Betty) Jurica, Henry (Lillie) Jurica, Albert (Ruth) Jurica, Adela (Frank) Sijansky, and Elsie (Leo) Call.

She is survived by her children, Wilma Hayek, David (Regina) Hayek and daughter-in-law, Lela Miller Hayek; grandchildren, Rebecca Turner, Susie (Broc) Elmore, Cathy (Quad) Ranne; Lori (Jeff) Barrett; granddaughter-in-law, Imogene Tischler Hayek; great-grandchildren, Cassie Hayek, Brody (Stephanie) Hayek, Sarah Hayek, Kate Barrett and Tristen Barrett, Katie Turner, Ashton, Cadence, Jolie and Drake Elmore, and great-great-grandchild, Bella Hayek.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Reception to follow graveside at Sokol Hall, 5502 Kostoryz Rd., Corpus Christi, TX.
