A proud graduate of Moody High School, Class of 1976, Linda built a life rooted in love and devotion to family. On March 26, 1977, she married the love of her life, Cruz Escamilla, and together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, memories, and unwavering partnership.
Linda dedicated many years of service as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration Office before retiring in 2016. She was known for her kindness, patience, and willingness to help others — qualities that carried into every part of her life.
She found joy in the simple pleasures: family gatherings, trips to the casino, and cheering on her favorite teams, the Astros and the Cowboys.
Above all, Linda will be remembered for her warm smile and laughter that could brighten any room.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Pedro and Aurelia Gonzales.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Cruz Escamilla Jr.; her children, Lori (Richard) Maldonado and Andrea (Ben) Vineyard; her cherished grandchildren, Kaylee Gomez, Easton Maldonado, Allie Vineyard, Natalie Vineyard, and Brandon Vineyard; and her siblings, Maria Leal, Pedro Gonzales, Alma Vead (Jeff), and Alonzo Gonzales.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Mirador, PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital and Enhabit Home Health for the compassion and care shown to Linda.
Linda was strong, loving, unapologetically herself, and fiercely devoted to those she loved. Her presence brought comfort, her laughter filled rooms, and her love shaped her family. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
