Lois Beatrice Steckel went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Tx. She was 86 years old. Lois was born on October 12, 1930 in Hargill, Tx to Henry and Elsie Gillard. Lois went back to college in her early fifties earning her LVN degree. She then worked in various Nursing Homes, Home Health and Private Care. Lois was known as Grandma to everyone she met. While we will miss her, we know she is Home. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold E. Steckel Sr.; and a great granddaughter, Haddie Jane Soliz. She is survived by her children, Beth (Chuck) McAvoy, Harold (Doris) Steckel, Gary (Kenda) Steckel, Tim (May) Steckel; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one sister, Mildred Holden; one brother, Samuel Gillard. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. that same day. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
