Luis Barba, a kind-hearted, beloved, and devoted husband and father, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Wharton, Texas, on October 23, 1949, Luis lived a life full of love and dedication.
Luis was the owner and operator of a truck driving business, having previously worked for Whitley Pahen Lone Star Transportation. His career as a truck driver, specifically driving 18 wheelers, was marked by commitment and professionalism.
On September 11, 1973, Luis married Miss Elizabeth Granado, beginning a journey of love and partnership that lasted a lifetime. Together, they shared numerous spontaneous family trips, a testament to their adventurous spirit and love for one another.
Luis is survived by his loving wife: Elizabeth Barba, their children: Jennifer Kristin Soliz, Lisa Marie Barba, Rachel Lynn Barba and Lee Herrera, grandchildren; Solei Soliz, Aaron Luis Barba, Jacob Soliz and Jon David Guartuche. He is preceded in death by his parents; Manuel Barba and Barbarita Barba, brothers; Baldemar Barba, Jessie Barba and Manuel Barba Jr.
Luis had a passion for trucks, mechanics, crossword puzzles, and was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys. These interests reflected his vibrant personality and zest for life.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Nurse Lane and Karen, CNA Carmen, and Chaplain Melissa for their compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX, on December 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. A chapel service will follow at the same venue from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, TX, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Luis Barba will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
