Manuel Lopez Jr.

Manuel Lopez Jr., age 71 of Corpus Christi, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He was a 1964 graduate of W.B. Ray High School and continued his education at Del Mar College. He attended Sam Houston State University and Corpus Christi State University (CCSU) to prepare for a long time career as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the State of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Romana D. Lopez; father, Manuel R. Lopez ad his mother, Maria Concepcion Lopez.

Survivors include his son, Juan A. Lopez (Rosie Lopez); daughter, Raquel A. Benavidez (Raul Benavidez); son, Victor R. Lopez; sister, Angelita Alvarez (Mack); granddaughters, Crystal Garza and Leianna Peña; 5 grandsons, Mateo A. Ramirez Sr., Jesus Ramirez, Roman A. Ramirez, Raul L. Benavidez and Israel L. Benavidez; 3 great-grandchildren, Julian G. Garcia, Michael “Mikey” A. James and Mateo A. Ramirez Jr.; 4 brothers, Bernabe Lopez (Mary), Antonio Lopez (Ester), Ruben Lopez (Guadalupe) and Jesus Lopez; several nieces and nephews also survive him.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel – Memorial Holly with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
