Manuela married the love of her life, Roberto Lopez, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and devotion. Married for 46 years, their bond remained strong throughout the years, bringing her constant comfort, strength, and joy.
Manuela had a generous heart and was known for the deep love she showed to her family and everyone around her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and “Gigi,” always placing her loved ones first. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort, where family gathered and lifelong memories were made.
She had a true passion for cooking and caring for plants, taking great pride in preparing meals for those she loved and nurturing the greenery around her. Manuela was especially known for making some of the best Mexican food around, with her homemade tamales being a favorite among family and friends. Cooking and tending to her plants were among the many ways she expressed her love.
In her spare time, Manuela enjoyed traveling to Louisiana and Las Vegas, where she loved spending time gambling. Above all else, her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Lopez; her parents, Pedro and Victoria Arredondo; her sisters, Emma Salazar and Yolanda Martinez; and her brothers, Israel, Ismael, Conrado, and Pedro Arredondo III.
Manuela is survived by her loving children: Esmeralda Quintanilla; Roberto (Rubiana C.) Lopez; Servando (Leanna D.) Lopez; and Gustavo (Vanessa) Lopez. She is also survived by her siblings: Juan (Raquel) Tovar; Alfredo (Maria) Arredondo; Oralia (Paul) Carranza; Belia Garza; Amelia (Lorenzo) Lara; Maria (Daniel) Prado; Rosa (Alfredo) Garza; Minerva (Lupe) Suarez; and Maria Rivera.
She leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Bryanna (Jordan V.) Quintanilla; Jacob (Kara H.) Quintanilla; Cerena Lopez; Antonio Lopez; Elianna Lopez; Ryan Lopez; Nicholas Lopez; and Andrew Lopez, along with her great-granddaughter, Brynlee Valdez, whom all brought her immense joy.
Pallbearers honoring Manuela’s life will be her sons Roberto Lopez, Gustavo Lopez, and Servando Lopez, and her grandsons Jacob Quintanilla, Antonio Lopez, and Ryan Lopez, who will carry her with love, dignity, and respect as a final tribute to a woman who meant so much to them.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Tribute Hospice, especially Nurse Amy DeRusse and Matthew DeLeon, for their compassionate care. Heartfelt gratitude is also extended to her sister-in-law, Margaret Lopez; her sister, Belia Garza; and her friend, Barbara Zaragoza, for their help with Manuela’s medical needs. A special thank-you is offered to Orlando Flores and his family for treating her like their own.
Manuela will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
