Manuela Garza Rosas

Manuela G. Rosas (80) was born on October 13, 1944. Her parents were Francisco Garza and Calistra M. Garza. Moms, or Mamacita as we called her, was a true leader and inspiration to our entire family. She was a loving wife to her husband Reymundo Rosas Sr. who gained his wings in 2011.

Throughout her life, Manuela worked hard to raise four tremendous kids, Maria Luisa Silva, Rudy Lee Rosas, Reymundo Rosas Jr., and Ruben Rosas. She started her grandmother duties with Maricruz Silva and Luis Silva Jr. Then Reymundo Jr. and Crystal Rosas added Reymundo Rosas III (Ryder) and Damian Rey Rosas. Ruben and his wife, Sasha Rosas, later added Eli Cosme Rosas and Adelina Margarita Rosas. Her motherly duties would never end. Along with this came the friends who always called her Mom as well.

Whatever you needed, Manuela would have it by your side in no time. Friends and family will lovingly recall her delicious cooking. Everyone wanted her tortillas with butter. Everyone wanted her home-cooked food. Her cooking was indeed Heaven sent.

Ireneo Garza, Inocencio Garza, Adela Calderon, Hortensia Garza, Adelina Ybarra, and Alex Garza were her brothers and sisters who helped her become the strong, beautiful woman that Mom was.

Every day with this woman was special to someone.

The family fondly reminisces on a story told to them by an elderly gentleman who drove by to pick up things they left outside. He said he asked Mom if he could take the things they left out on the curb. As he left, he shook Mom's hand. He came back often and testified the moment he shook Mom’s hand, the pain in his back left his body. He said he had this pain for years and it caused him to retire. He felt he was in debt to Mom and often would help the family with any work they needed especially on their lawn equipment.

There will not be another Manuela G. Rosas in this world!

We can only hope that the mold was not broken and that more of these women come into our lives daily.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 9 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary and Celebration of Life will be held that same evening at 7 PM. All services will conclude in the Memory Gardens Chapel that evening.
