Born on January 21, 1945, in Houston, TX, Margaret was the only child of Leslie Christian Raab and Ila Belle Ferrell Raab. During her childhood, she loved riding her horse Ruby and playing with her cats and her dog Rusty. She graduated from John Foster Dulles High School in 1963 and attended the University of Houston where she met the love of her life, Frank Earle. She and Frank married on July 3, 1965, at the Methodist Church in Fresno, TX, telling family “they could always add the July 4th holiday to celebrate a long weekend.”
Margaret and Frank raised two children, David and Leslie, before Margaret went back to school at Corpus Christi State University in the early 1980s. After she earned her bachelor’s degree, she began her teaching career. She taught at TG Allen Elementary School for many years as a special education resource teacher and retired from the Corpus Christi ISD in 2002.
She and Frank were members of St. John’s United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. Margaret was active in United Methodist Women and served on the prayer team while Frank sang in the sanctuary choir. She also helped establish the FaithLinks Class for special needs children and adults and co-taught the class for several years with fellow church members.
Margaret loved her family and especially enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren when they were younger. They remember her planning every minute of a trip with things to do and see, and providing many fun opportunities. Margaret also enjoyed keeping the grandchildren and baking gingerbread houses with all of them. One of Margaret’s special sayings was “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.” She always called granddaughter Natalie “my nurse.” Margaret was also an avid reader, and when the family lived in Natchitoches, LA, Margaret gave tours of Melrose Plantation in period dress.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank, who died on August 31, 2016. She is survived by her daughter Leslie Albrecht of Corpus Christi; her son David Earle (Lacey) of Silsbee, TX; four grandchildren, Melanie Albrecht of San Antonio and Natalie Albrecht of Corpus Christi, and their father Royce; and Rhys and Caelan Earle of Silsbee.
Funeral services are entrusted to Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with visitation on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
