She was passionate about music, singing, cooking and fishing with her family. Margarita was the niece of four great Caceres musicians. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was married to Librado R. Velazco for 51 years who preceded her in death in 2000.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvana Velazco Sandoval; mother, Guadalupe Caceres Duran and her sister, Olga L. Villegas.
Survivors include her children, Librado Velazco, Jr., Elizabeth (Wayne Packen) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Katherine Velazco (Alfred) Lopez and Hopie Velazco (Joe) Reyes both of Corpus Christi, Texas; half-sister, Sylvia (Humberto) Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas, half-brother, Ralph (Sylvia) Duran of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Alejandro L. Velazco, Javier A. Sandoval, Andres E. (Richelle) Sandoval, Lauren N. Sanchez, Katherine A. (Jose) Sanchez, Dominic C. Lopez, Lexee C. Garcia, Sydney M. Reyes, Gabrielle M. Lopez and Ryan L. Reyes; great-grandchild, Antonio G. Sandoval.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be held at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:00 am with entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
