Maria A. Basquez

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took the road less traveled in life by bravely bringing her family to the United States from Mexico. She loved God and lived to serve the Lord. She lived beyond her expectation by living to see her great grandchildren in life. She saw the good in everyone and was the glue that held her family together. She will be remembered for her love of joking and her good sense of humor. Anytime anyone came into Maria’s home she was sure that they were fed and that is how she lived life, for others.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Manuel Acuna Basquez; siblings, Lupita Cervantes, Antonio Alvarado, Salvador Cervantes, Janie Vasquez and Rose Canales.

She is survived by her loving children, Carmen Morua (Mario), Elizabeth Silvas, Jose Antonio Cervantes, Daniel Cervantes, Priscilla Rodriguez (Mauro), Luisa Basquez, Claudia Basquez, Rebecca C. Basquez, Maria Crafon, Miguel Vasquez (Estella), Manuel Vasquez (Antonia), Abelardo Vasquez, Dalia Saenz (Carlos); her grandchildren, Mario C. Morua II, Elizabeth M. Rodriguez, Ileen C. Rodriguez, Jose Antonio Cervantes II, Jose Luis Ruiz, Elias Cervantes, Sarai Morua, Andrew Cervantes, Ashley Adame, Emma Willingham, Marcus Allan Rodriguez, Tyler Cervantes; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Jose Luis Cervantes; and sister, Dolores Frutos.

Visitation will be held at Segunda Iglesia Bautista on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with an evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral Service will be held at Segunda Iglesia Bautista on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
