

Her husband, Moises Covarrubias, daughter, Sylvia Covarrubias and son, Daniel Covarrubias were also in the receiving line with open arms with big smiles to welcome our mother in heaven.
Maria Oralia enjoyed volunteering for Doctor’s Regional Hospital for many years. She was a faithful member of Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi for over fifty years. She was involved with the United Methodist Women throughout her years with Kelsey Memorial. She, along with her husband Moises, would visit and stay with the sick in the hospital and ran errands for them when needed. She was a very friendly, giving and Christian woman who advised many and shared her love for God. She later transferred her membership to El Divino Salvador United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas.
She is survived by her three children Esther C Barrera (Manuel Villarreal) of San Antonio, Texas; Moses Covarrubias (Tish) of San Antonio; and Dollie Hill of Allen, Texas; daughter-in-law Cindy Covarrubias of McKinney, Texas. Ten grandchildren - Rick Barrera, Jacob Covarrubias, Roland Barrera, Audrey Brewer, Travis Trayler, Theresa Taylor, Monica Cole, Mike Hernandez, PJ Hernandez, Monique Dennis and 19 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The Family of Maria Oralia Covarrubias would like to thank all of our prayer warriors for your special prayers and we would also like to thank Gwen Wynns, Wanda Cordaway, AllCare, Gentiva Hospice, and Brook Hollow Assisted Living (Claudia, Nellie, and Lydia) for looking after our mother. YES- Heaven has received a beautiful Angel!
