Maria Luisa Elizalde

She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She taught the Adult Sunday School Class for over 40 years at Monte Sinai Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord and spending time with her family, children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Juan Elizalde; her son, Reynaldo “Rey”; her father, mother, two sisters, and one brother.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children; Dahlia (Raul) Martinez, Janie (Raul) Elizalde, the late Reynaldo Rey (Cindy) Elizalde, Joe (Genie) Elizalde, Olivia (Ramiro) Vega, Nora Elizalde (Pete), Alma (John) Valdez, David (Gloria) Elizalde. She also leaves behind nineteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, one brother and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service to be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening.

Visitation will continue in the morning Thursday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Monte Sinai Baptist Church, 5910 Greenwood Drive with funeral services to start at 11:00 a.m. and interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
