Maria Luisa Ortiz

She was born in Laredo, Texas to the late Pedro and Carmen Escamilla. Maria married the love of her life, Gilberto L. Ortiz Sr. on April 11, 1960 in her hometown of Laredo, Texas. She went on to be a homemaker who loved gardening and tendinding to her plants, crocheting and doing seamstress work. Maria also enjoyed watching her telenovelas and cooking delicious meals like her homemade tamales to feed her family. She found great joy in taking care of her grandchildren, Maria was a good hearted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Preceding Maria in eternal rest are her parents; Pedro and Carmen Escamilla, siblings; Fransisca E. Rubio, Diamantina Smith, Beatriz E. Donaghy, Benigo Escamilla, George Escamilla and Jose Angel Escamilla.

Left to cherish the beautiful memory of Maria are her children; Nellie Jane Escamilla, Gilberto L. Ortiz Jr. (Laura), Alberto G. Ortiz (Valeria), Carmen Leticia Ortiz, Patricia Garcia (Gerado), grandchildren; Carlos O. Escamilla III, Marivel O. Escamilla, Andres O. Escamilla, Gilberto L. Ortiz III, Stephanie L. Mocquot, Jasmin M. Ortiz, Sophia C. Ortiz, Joshua L. Ortiz, Alberto G. Ortiz Jr., Alexis R. Ortiz, Victor Garcia, Eric Garcia, great grandchildren; Magnus A. Escamilla, Maria-Isabella Escamilla, Karolina Escamilla, Nikola M. Escamilla, Riley Ortiz and numerous extended family and friends.
