She was a member of SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Petra was a devout Catholic and strongly believed in her faith. Petra enjoyed singing at church and at her family birthdays. She loved to call her family members and friends on their birthdays and sing "Happy Birthday" to them. Her enjoyment was watching Novellas and spending quality time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Petra is survived by her son, Esteban “Steve” Benitez, Jr.; one grandson, Esteban Benitez, III; one sister, Anna (Trinidad) Soto and one brother, Juaquin Flores. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel on Friday, May 25, 2018 with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery.
