Maria Rosa Tamez

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; sister Ofelia De Leon and brother, Raul Solis; and her loving husband of 56 years, Benito Tamez.

She is survived by her children: Benito “Benny” Tamez, Jr. (Debbie), Irma Castro (Luis), Carlos Tamez (Shawna), Roland Tamez and Norma Foster of Midwest City, Ok. Also surviving her are brothers, Carlos De Leon (Maria) and Macedonio De Leon (Aurea) both of Corpus Christi, Texas, 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was a life-long homemaker who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the 3rd floor nurses and staff of Retama Manor Nursing Center of Corpus Christi for the care and love they showed our mother, it is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Also, special thanks to the nurses and staff of Christus Spohn Shoreline, especially, the 3 East and A-6 Telemetry and to Dr. Ernesto H. Guido and Dr. Narain D. Mangle for their care and concern during our mother’s final illness, Thank You.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 and a rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2011 at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
