Marilyn Lehrke Draper

Marilyn Lehrke Draper passed away peacefully August 22, 2010 after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 8, 1929 in Waconia, Minnesota. Survivors include her husband, William R. (Bill) Draper, Sr.; her children, Paul B. Philippy of Staunton, Virginia, Steven J. Philippy of Nokesville, Virginia; three grandsons, Paul B. Philippy, Jr. of the University of Maine, David Phillippy, U S Navy of San Diego, California, and Jason Philippy of Manassas, Virginia.

Marilyn was a classy lady with a bright and witty personality. She retired from the VA Central Office in 1989, congressional liaison. Her love of travel was captured in the 1000 Christmas ornaments she collected worldwide. Her love of God and her church were reflected in serving church offices at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Falls Church, Virginia for thirty-three years. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Corpus Christi since 1989.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church , 4620 S. Alameda, Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in her memory.
