Mario Salazar, age 42, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on November 8, 2025. He was born on July 5, 1983, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mario proudly attended Ray High School and later went on to earn his GED.
On February 18, 2011, Mario married the love of his life, Mandi Salazar. Together they built a beautiful family and shared many wonderful memories.
Mario worked as a master electrician with Southwest Electrical Contracting Services and was a proud member of the IBEW Local Union No. 278. He was deeply respected for his strong work ethic, dedication, and reliability; always showing up for his team and his family, even when he wasn’t feeling his best.
Outside of work, Mario found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching football, basketball, UFC, and boxing, and was an enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys and any team that LeBron James played for. But more than anything, Mario loved being surrounded by family. Some of the family’s favorite memories include weekend barbecues, cheering for their teams together, wrestling with his kids, and playing with his grandchildren. Those who knew him best will remember his contagious energy, his strength, and his famous phrase, “I don’t get tired.” He was proud, hard-working, and full of life, often reminding everyone to slow down and enjoy “five more minutes.”
Mario was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jacob D. Salazar and Feliz Castillo Salazar; his maternal grandparents, Jesus and Quintana Carrizales; his brother-in-law, Robert Garcia III; his dog, Jr.; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mandi Salazar; his children, Jonathan T. Salazar, Jacob J. Salazar, Joy C. Salazar, Jeremiah R. Salazar, and Liliana M. Salazar. He also leaves behind his parents, Abel and his spouse, Jacqueline Salazar, and his mother, Mary Lou and her husband, Manuel Villarreal; his siblings, Abel Salazar Jr., Victoria Salazar, Jesse Ortiz, Jason Garza, and Roland Garza; and his cherished grandchildren, Addilyn Salazar, Avyaan Salazar, and Apollo Vangilder.
Mario will be remembered for his strength, humor, and the way he loved without limits. His family and friends will forever carry with them the sound of his laughter, the warmth of his hugs, and the reminder to make every moment count.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel, located at 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX, 78405, on November 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Prayer Service will take place at the same venue on the same day beginning at 3:00 pm.
