Mary emulated her greatest love for all her grandchildren from her beloved predeceased grandparents who raised her as their beloved daughter Ma’ma María Palacios & Don Jesús Valdez. Mary had two special cousins that she considered brothers growing up whom she will also be joining, Herman P. Medina and Frank “Panchito” Martinez.
She is survived by her children: Bruno Rene “Boy” Elizondo, Nora (Ricardo) Garcia, Mary Elizabeth “Lizzy” Elizondo, Carolina E. (Francisco) Ruelas, Jesse C. Mary served the community retiring from H-E-B Grocery after 26 years. She loved talking to the people and serving in many ways. Creative at everything she touched and never hesitated to jump right in to lend a hand. She gave every grandchild a special nickname and they in turn did the same. She will always be remembered as Sexy Red, Lucy, Grandma Grey, Muñeca and La Dama just to name a few. Her pride and joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Whether it was a simple family dinner, coloring, attending their sporting events, or big celebrations for all their accomplishments. She was in it and ready to make an appearance. Always dolled up ready to enjoy the moment. Selfless, always giving even if it was just the napkin she always had tucked away in her pocket.
A Memorial Service will be held at Memory Gardens, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 8:30 – 11:30am.
