Minerva Contreras

Sadly we lost our mother Minerva Contreras on December 19, 2022, at the age of 86. She was a loving and devoted mother to 4 children, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and wife to our deceased father for 62 years.

"Mama, Grandma and Granny”, as we all called her, loved music, dancing, cooking, football, hockey and soccer. We can still hear the cowbell clanging each time her favorite team scored. But most of all she adored our father and spending time with him.

After our dad died, we heard stories from their youth, that we had never heard before. “We did so much with so little money and had the best time” as she reminisced.

The devotion and love my parents had for each other is palpable, after finding a note, from our father that she always carried with her.

A public visitation for Minerva will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 5:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5830 Williams Dr., Corpus Christi, TX. An interment will follow at 11:30 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX.
