Olga G. Duarte

Olga G. Duarte, 85, entered into enternal peace on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 16, 1929, in Robstown, Texas, to the late Filiberto and Concepcion Garcia. She was preceded by her beloved husband, Ignacio C. Duarte of 60 years, and brother and sister.

She lived childhood years in Paras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and most of her married life in Brownsville, Texas, before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas, to be closer to her family. She was extremely proud of her family, especially her children, and of her culture. She enjoyed making fresh flour tortillas, cooking, and sewing. She will be dearly missed by all her family.

Olga leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children, Robert Duarte (Mary Jane), Delia Silva and Ricardo Duarte; grandchildren, Linda Dianne Benavides (Julio), Lori Ann Duarte (Josh), Adam Christopher Duarte (Tamara), Aaron Joseph Duarte, David Alexander Silva, Robert Silva, Jr. (Moriah); eight great grandchildren, Army Spec. Rian D. Ponce, Emma Olivia Benavides, Evan Alan Benavides, Jacob Hale Duarte, Chloe Jane Duarte, John David Silva, Aracely Silva, Rain Neriah Silva; her brother Dionicio Garcia, her sisters, Esperanza Garcia and Magda Gutierrez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Philip Lackey, we thank you so much for your generous love, care and support you provided Mom and the family over the years. We were truly blessed.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and prayer of the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a burial to be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
