Pedro Z. Castillo

Pedro was born June 25, 1934 to Maurilio Castillo and Maria Isabel Zuniga in Mexico, where he was an accomplished comisionado in San Miguelito, N.L. He helped the community in many ways and was veterano de la Defensa Nacional. His passion was being a loving father and grandfather. He was active all his life, having worked at Texas A& M University for 16 years before retiring.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Amelia L. Castillo.

Pedro leaves behind his children: Mario (Guadalupe), Efrain, Pedro Jr. (Angie), Rolando (Angie), Migdalia (Johnny), Berthilia (Ricardo) Lopez, Oscar (Andrea) and Amelia (Abel) Pena; 25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way. He also leaves behind his brother, Panfilo and cherished memories of the brothers preceded in death: Valente, Emilio, Desiderio, Olegario, Zenaido, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The family will be receiving friends at Funeraria del Angel-549 Cheyenne St. from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2013 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church on Monday, March 4, 2013 with a burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
