Pedro M. Herrera

Pedro M. Herrera left to join his Heavenly Father on April 29, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born on February 26, 1930 to Rev. Pedro G. Herrera and Ignacia Mendieta Herrera, in Kingsville, Texas. He graduated from Sabinal High School, served his country in the Air Force and attended A&I in Kingsville. He was a contractor by profession.

Pedro’s parents, his brother, Eliseo Herrera, his sisters, Rachel Begil and Ruth Mendoza preceded him in death. Pedro was a faithful member of Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church where he served in different capacities. His passion was participating in the Food Bank program.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Cristina Vega Herrera, daughter, Anna V. Herrera, sons, Mario V. Herrera (wife Denise) and Daniel V. Herrera (wife Stephanie), nine grandchildren; his sister, Rebecca Aleman and brother, Samuel Herrera, both of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Omega Estrada from Dallas, Texas, and numerous relatives.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 8200 Old Brownsville Road.

The Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10:00 am at Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church at 1610 Comanche St. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
