Rafaela T. Casas

Rafaela was married to Victor Casas on April 24, 1954. She owned and operated “La Bodega Second Hand Store,” in Brownsville, Texas. Rafaela worked at W.B.Ray High as a cafeteria food service assistant. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and had a passion for arts and crafts.

Rafaela was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique Sr. and Juventina Trevino; brothers, Panfilo Trevino, Enrique Trevino, Jr., and Alejandro A. Trevino.

She was survived by husband, Victor Casas Sr.; children, Victor Casas, Jr., Mercedes Mata, Alicia Casas, Elida Campos, Ricardo Casas, Israel Casas, Irene Pruneda, and David Casas; grandchildren, John Mata, Jennifer C. Benavidez, Christina Casas, Victor Casas Jr., Luis Casas, Jaime Casas, Joann Garcia, Tony Lara, Ruben Lara III, Robert Casas, Denise Casas, Misty Celis, Monica Moreno, Michael Moreno, Ramon Pruneda III and Cassandra Casas; siblings, Roberto I. Trevino, Guadalupe Casas and Simona Estrada.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
