

Richard L. De Leon (Riche), age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2012. Richard was dedicated to serving his country. He was a P.O.W. from April 26, 1951 till August 6, 1953 in Korea.
His true passion was music. He played guitar and sang since he was 7 years old. Throughout his life he performed in P.O.W. Camps, Army Bases, and all around the country. As a professional musician he founded the first Trio in Corpus Christi, Texas, known as "Trio Corpeño". He also performed with Trio Domino and Trio Crystal where he successfully recorded several albums. Riche was a loving family man with a great sense of humor. His favorite saying was "I'm Still Kicking" and "Y Dios Por De Lante". Riche will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
He joins in heaven his parents, Valentine and Anita De Leon and his son, Richard De Leon, Jr.
Riche is survived by his son, Danny Lee De Leon (Hilda); daughters, Denise (John) Castillo, Tina (Andrew) Amaro; brother, Valentine (Dora); sister, Ofelia (Joe) Longoria; eight grandchildren, Andres Morales, Malynda Castillo, Jazzeray Amaro, Justina Castillo, Alejandro Amaro, Jacob Amaro, Jimmy Dan De Leon, and Andrew De Leon. Also surviving him are several nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends and family on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that evening. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Honoring Riche as pallbearers will be John Castillo, Sr., Andrew Amaro, Danny Lee De Leon, Andres Morales, Jimmy Dan De Leon, and John Castillo, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Alejandro Amaro and Jacob Amaro.
