Richard is survived by his loving siblings: sisters Irma (Ron) Barroso, Nelda (Jude) Aguilera, Cindy (Martin) Del Toro, and brother Eddie Garcia. He is also survived by his cherished niece, Elaina Barroso, and nephews Marc Aguilera, Ram Aguilera, Jeff Barroso, and Adrian Sanchez, along with extended family and many friends who loved him dearly.
Richard was proudly employed at Whataburger, where he was known for cheerfully passing out condiments and napkins and greeting everyone with a smile. He even received several tips, which always brought a big smile to his face and made him very proud.
Richard had a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. He especially enjoyed Marvel characters, with a special fondness for The Hulk — or “Hulkie,” as he affectionately called him. He also loved his Dr Pepper, and he had a fondness for collecting cups and wearing hats, which brought him simple happiness and comfort.
Food was another joy in Richard’s life. His favorites included hamburgers, tacos, enchiladas, pizza, and fish. No matter what was placed in front of him, he would always smile and say, “I LOVE IT.”
Funeral services will be held at Funeria De Angel, located at 4901 Everhart Rd, on January 14th. Family visitation will take place from 10:00–11:00 a.m., followed by viewing from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and a memorial service from 12:00–1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
The family would like to extend special thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Wooldridge Place Nursing Center and Nurses on Wheels Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided to Richard.
Rest in peace, sweet brother. We will miss you so much, and your memory will live on forever in our hearts.
