Robert S. Garcia

Robert was born on February 22, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Guadalupe Garcia and Suzanna Stansell. He was a postal employee for 42 years. He was very proud of his military service in the Army Air Corp serving in the Philippine Islands and Tokyo. He enjoyed golf with friends and family and going to the local high school football and baseball games.

Robert is preceded in death by two brothers, Adolph and Lupe; three sisters, Goldie, Pauline and Elisa.

He is survived by his children, Linda Florez, Diana Cortez, Robert Garcia and ex-wife Liley P. Garcia. Also he was extremely proud of his grandchildren; Andy Florez, Virginia Hodnett, Jacqui Clement, Michael Florez, Joseph Cortez, Robert Garcia and great grandchildren, Mykala, Nathan, Anna, Sarah, Ethan, Kara and Noah; two sisters, Yolanda Gonzalez from Corpus Christi,Texas and Rachel Budd of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11th from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and on Wednesday, September 12th from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Coast Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
