

Rosendo C. Zuniga of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on March 15, 2022 at the age of 78 years old. Rosendo’s parents originally of Texas moved to Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas where he was born on March 1, 1944.
At the age of 11 Rosendo’s parents packed up their family and moved to Texas. At the young age of 21 Rosendo’s life changed when he met Angelica… It was not long after he knew he was in love and asked Angelica Silva for her hand in marriage. Angelica accepted and they were happily married for 56 beautiful years. Rosendo truly met and married the love of his life.
Rosendo was a certified welder for over 45 years. Not only was welding a living for Rosendo it was a hobby. He used his welding skills to take pieces of metal he bent, reshaped and made into unique pieces of art. He was a bible study and outreach director and Deacon at Primera Iglesia Bautista. He also was involved in park ministry and a missionary in several parts of Mexico. During that time Rosendo became a licensed minister and pastored a mission church through Primera Igelsia Bautista for many years. He was a man with God in his heart and strived to reach many people to accept Christ their personal savior. As time went on he retired his welding torch and spent time in helping his daughter with her business.
Rosendo’s number one love was his family.
He is reunited with his parents, Victoriano and Consuelo Zuniga; sisters, Maria Zuniga Deleon, Olga De Los Santos; brother, Victoriano Zuniga Jr.; and a son, Rosendo S. Zuniga Jr.
He leaves his loving memories to his loving wife, Angelica S. Zuniga; daughter, Laura Z. Whicker (Chuck); sons, Rosendo C. Zuniga Jr. (Jamie); Michael J. Zuniga (Toni); granddaughter, Norma A. Choate (Caleb); grandsons, John D. Cantera (Priscilla); Christopher R. Cantera (Jamie); his brother, Martin C. Zuniga (Diana); sisters, Candy Z. Martinez, Frances Chavez (Danny); 8 great grandchildren.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Zuniga, John Cantera, Chuck Whicker, Caleb Choate, Cruz Cantera, Christopher R. Cantera; honorary pallbearers are Laura Z. Whicker, Jamie Zuniga and Toni Zuniga.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
